Day 1: Travel Day

After clearing customs and immigration, meet our representative and transfer by private car to your ideally located hotel.

Spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

Overlooking Tokyo from the hotel’s 45th floor, Azure 45 reveals an East meets West fine dining concept that draws from Japan’s rich textiles, warm woods and geometric patterns.

Day 2 & 3: Tokyo

For those 2 days, you can choose from a selection of our experiences – tea ceremony, Wagashi (Japanese Sweet Making) and visits, Asakusa, Shinjuku, Shibuya, Harajuku and the Meiji shrine…

But you will also experience the excitement and energy of Tokyo’s famous tuna auction at its new home. With our chef you will have the unique chance to enter the Toyosu market floor where only buyers are allowed into and get lost in the labyrinth of seafood stalls, do your shopping and choose the best ingredients for your lunch at the chef’s hidden restaurant.

You will be led by a local expert guide throughout the best Izakaya in town only locals know about and visit some of the finest sake breweries in Tokyo, to witness the production process, learn about the history of the breweries, procedure of sake making and taste the season’s freshest sake.

For dinner the choice will be yours, but we recommend Effervescence which serves fine French cuisine with a Japanese inspiration and Sushi Mizukami, an excellent restaurant to visit if you wish to try Jiro-styled sushi.

Day 4: Tokyo/Kanazawa

You will take a Shinkansen (bullet train) to Kanazawa. Upon arrival at the station,your private car will pick you up and bring you to your hotel to drop your luggage.

Then you will visit the city of Kanazawa, where Edo Culture Lives On. Kanazawa Castle, Kenrokuen classified as one of Japan’s “three most beautiful landscape gardens” and Higashi Chaya District, a former geisha quarter.

The evening’s dinner, will be a traditional kaiseki at Gyokusentei, featuring seasonal local ingredients with the famous Kanazawa snow crab.

Day 5: Kanazawa/Kyoto

You will skip breakfast and head to the Omicho market, a must visit market for food lovers and Kanazawa’s largest fresh food market since the Edo Period.

Kanazawa is often listed as the number one sushi-eating city in Japan and locals spend more money on this cuisine than the residents from any other city. To introduce “Sushi Kanazawa Style” you will visit for lunch Asanogawa, with sushi prepared in a way that enhances the original flavor and umami of the ingredients to the fullest.

In the afternoon the Limited Express will bring you to Kyoto, approximately 2h.

Late afternoon and evening, catch a glimpse of a geisha or “geiko” as they’re known in Kyoto, with her white face and beautiful kimono, rushing to an appointment in the narrow streets of Kyoto’s Gion district.

In the evening, experience the true, authentic taste of traditional Japan with a private kaiseki dinner with a maiko or apprentice geisha.

Day 6: Kyoto

Kyoto was the capital of Japan for over a millennium, and has the reputation of being its most beautiful city. However, visitors may be surprised by how much work they will have to do to see Kyoto’s beautiful side.

Whether you prefer visiting Kyoto’s major highlights including UNESCO World Heritage sites or stone-paved narrow alley of Gion, we will ensure your memorable time in Kyoto.

For lunch, you will enjoy shojin ryori (Zen vegetarian cuisine) at Shigetsu, a large temple-style restaurant surrounded by the natural beauty of Tenryu-ji’s World Heritage gardens.

Dinner at Kodaiji Jugyuan, an elegant Sukiya-style overlooking the city and the mountains beyond, to experience the exquisite and traditional flavors of Kyo ryori (Kyoto cuisine).

Day 7: Kyoto/Nara

In the morning, your private car will pick you up and drive you to one of the most impressive and memorable sights in all of Kyoto, the famous Fushimi Inari Shrine and Fushimi sake district.

Then you will go to Wazuka, where with a certified Uji Tea Sommelier, you will discover a small town that has been growing tea for the last 800+ years, with an emphasis on Japanese green tea in all is splendor, from the growing, to processing, to preparation, and of course drinking.

To finish the day, you will visit Nara, home to many important historical sites, such as Todai-ji Temple, the world’s largest wooden structure.

Michelin-star dinner at Gion Kyoboshi, specialized in tempura for 3 generations.

Day 8: Osaka

30 minutes away from Kyoto, Osaka the underestimated, which is nevertheless the capital of Japanese cuisine and a city for gourmets who is proud of its reputation as kuidaore (eat until you drop).

After visiting the Castle, you will discover this long time capital of commerce filled with down-to-earth people and neon-clad streetscapes. We never get bored in Osaka and its real treasures are in its bustling street life, its arcades, markets and and this is after dark Osaka really comes to life, when locals come out for tasty eats, sake and good times.

Final dinner at Michelin-star Hajime, which is ranked as the 34th best restaurant in Asia by ‘The World’s 50 Best’ and zenith of Japanese cuisine which continues to amaze the world.

Day 9: Time to leave

Transfer by private car to Osaka KIX airport for a flight to Tokyo or home.
