Who are My Japan Guide?
My Japan Guide are a receptive travel agency and tour operator based in Japan. Our team specializes in tailor-made travel, guided tours and “off the beaten track” in Japan without intermediaries. More info.
Who are the guides?
All My Japan Guide’s collaborators whether foreigners or Japanese, are bilingual English speakers, most of them certified.
We recruit them for their knowledge but also for their oratory skills, their pleasure in transmitting, exchanging and their love of Japan!
What types of tours do you offer?
- Private tours are limited exclusively to travelers in your party. They’re particularly well suited to the time-strapped and those traveling with the under-twelve set.
- Custom tours are just that: customized so you see exactly what you want, on your own schedule, by either stitching together a series of our private tours or creating something entirely personalized.
Where do the tours start?
Usually our guides will come and meet you at your hotel and you can go direct from there. Or we can meet you at the airport, your workplace, or wherever else is easiest for you.
Occasionally if we think it would help maximize your experience we may suggest meeting at a landmark location somewhere central.
Will there be other people in the tour?
All our tours listed under the name of private and custom tours are 100% private – that means just you and your party only! Plus your professional local guide, of course (and chauffeur in case you’ve chosen private transportation).
Are the tours in a vehicle or on foot?
This depends on the tour and on your wishes and budget. Some people prefer to walk or travel like locals on Japan’s excellent public transport system. Other people prefer a private car and driver, especially if they want to see things a little more out of the cities.
Sometimes a taxi is enough to get us where we need to be. Talk to us and we’ll advise what’s best.
Is the visit maintained in the event of rain?
Tours are maintained regardless of weather conditions.
Tours are canceled only in the event of extreme weather conditions that endanger the safety of participants: typhoon, storm, etc.
We will then suggest that you postpone your visit.
Our rates and fees
Our prices are inclusive of all taxes (all taxes included) and include transport, meals (JPY 1,500 max.) and entrance fees to the sites of your private English-speaking guide.
The amounts indicated are not prices per person, but for the group (maximum 6 people) traveling with you.
Rates apply to people aged 7 and over.
What happens if I need to cancel my trip?
Any request for cancellation must be received by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. In case of cancellation, our refund policy is:
- Up to 35 days prior to the date of travel: No cancellation fee + 5% transaction fee.
- 34 – 15 days prior to the date of travel: 50% of the specified booking and 5% transaction fee.
- From 14 days prior to the date of travel: 100% of the specified booking.

How can I make changes to my reservation?
Any request for modification must be received by e-mail at email@example.com. Any change of date or content cannot be guaranteed and shall be applied subject to availability.

Gratuities are not at all mandatory but always appreciated!
