This private tour can be booked as a standalone day or included within a custom Japan itinerary, with hotels, transport, guides, cultural experiences, and local support arranged around your dates.
After years of controversy and delay, Tokyo’s legendary Tsukiji Market — once the largest wholesale fish market in the world — relocated to Toyosu in Tokyo Bay in October 2018. Where Tsukiji’s floor was once accessible to visitors, Toyosu now restricts the public to upper observation galleries only.
On this private experience, you go far beyond the viewing decks. Accompanied by a professional sushi chef, you gain rare access to the Toyosu market floor — a labyrinth of seafood stalls where the menus of Tokyo’s most celebrated restaurants are decided each morning. You select the finest ingredients with your chef, observe the rituals of professional fish buying, and end the morning at Tsukiji Outer Market before sitting down to a meal prepared from what you chose.
